| Marietta PLC Welcomes New Partner In Education, Feb. 9 The Marietta Performance Learning Center hosts a Partner in Education signing ceremony Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. to welcome the Marietta Housing Authority. Representatives of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce Business and Education Committee will tour the facility following the ceremony. Marietta PLC Students Win Statewide Contest, Feb. 5 Marietta Performance Learning Center (PLC) students Ewan Petersen and Rubi Romero are among the high school winners of the Communities In Schools (CIS) of Georgia statewide Student Achievement Month (SAM) contest. State winners will receive a computer, printer, and educational software applicable to their grade level. High school seniors can opt for a $1,000 scholarship to an accredited college. |
Employee of the month, Nov. 2009 Tanya Griggs is an exceptional teacher. She is an inspiration to her students as well as her colleagues. Tanya builds relationships with her students that go beyond the classroom and therefore brings out the best in event the most reluctant learners. Tanya was recently recognized as an 11Alive Class Act Teacher for her ability to inspire teens others might write off. Her students describe her as a great teacher and a great friend, and as someone that they can depend on. |
