MCS Superintendent Among Finalists GSSA 2011 Superintendent of the Year
Marietta City Schools (MCS) Superintendent, Dr. Emily Lembeck is among four finalists named by the Georgia School Superintendents Association (GSSA) for 2011 Superintendent of the Year. Marietta PLC Welcomes Rotary - New Partner In Education, Aug. 6
The Marietta Performance Learning Center recently welcomed the Rotary Club of Marietta as a new Partner in Education. In 2009-10, the Rotary Club of Marietta worked very closely with the Marietta Performance Center by providing 45 job shadowing opportunities with businesses in the city of Marietta. This official partnership will further allow the two organizations more opportunities for community collaboration.

Marietta PLC Students Earn Scholarships, July 19
Four Marietta Performance Learning Center (PLC) at Woods-Wilkins students were among 13 students selected as recipients of the 2010 Walmart Foundation Communities in Schools Scholarships. The Marietta PLC recipients of this award—chosen based on their financial need, academic performance, and demonstrated leadership abilities—are: Emma Ayala, Rubi Romero, Shane Waddy, and Ariana Walker.
Marietta PLC Students Win Statewide Contest, Feb. 5
Marietta Performance Learning Center (PLC) students Ewan Petersen and Rubi Romero are among the high school winners of the Communities In Schools (CIS) of Georgia statewide Student Achievement Month (SAM) contest. State winners will receive a computer, printer, and educational software applicable to their grade level. High school seniors can opt for a $1,000 scholarship to an accredited college.
